Some good news and some bad news. Which one do I go with first??
Ok bad news first: I have exams soon and I have yet to revise. I know damn well I'd be acing those exams if I just revise, but I just can't be bothered anymore. I need some next level motivation to actually get anywhere with this. Wish me luck!
As for the good news...IT'S TECHINCALLY HOLIDAY SZN FOR ME!!!
Well, it's been like that for like a whole month now, but so much stuff happened that it really just felt like I was experiencing everything BUT a break. I'm just glad that these holidays stretch all the way to September, I technically have half the year off! But damn, can't believe the governmnet is rinsing my wallet just to attend uni for like half a year.
I'm also doing some volunteer work in my local area, so I don't become lazier than I already am. It's actually so fun, I'm so glad I joined. I'm also looking for paid jobs too, so the volunteering might double as some work experience. Let's see where my job hunting takes me.

Currently in my flop era, so I won't be able to work on this site much. I'm not sure how long this will last, but I really do hope I get back on track soon. I've spent way too many hours on this to give up now.
I might change a few things here and there, but that too remains an uncertainty.
On a brighter note, I'm going to Wales for some research about water quality and some geology stuff! I've never been to Wales so I'm pretty excited. I might add some pictures here too, for the memz.
Let's hope I don't completely abandon this beauty, though. It'll haunt me till my last breath if I do.

I took a break for a couple of days, since I didn't know how I wanted my "about" page to actually look like. I was dreading it for the most part, but I decided to work on it yesterday. I didn't have a plan, but I knew I wanted it done ASAP.
To be honest, I kinda like how it turned out. In terms of aesthetics, it's not in line with the "home" page layout entirely, but the "Microsoft 98" feel is there to some degree. (Well, I'd like to think so).
Here's what it's looking like so far...
I still think it's missing a little something, but I can't seem to lay a finger on it.
One change that I've been planning to carry out for a while now, is replacing the scattered images and icons on the "home" page with a comments box. I plan on moving those images to the "about" page though, since I think they'd fit there more. They've got hyperlinks to sites that I enjoy going on, so it'd be better if they're in the "about" page, rather than the "home page.
Speaking of the "home" page, this is how it looks like now!
I think it looks more colourful than before, and I think it fits the vibe I'm going for. I'm happy with it.
I also added an "enter" page, which I think was the "cherry on top" for my friends who thought my site was truly a scam. Seeing them get concerned about what they were about to get themselves into was amusing
Here's the "enter" page.
Now that I look at it, I see why they'd be worried haha. The robotic arm gif does give the site an ominous feel. Exactly how I like it.

I've made a lot of progress with this site, which I think I should be very proud of. I'm not gonna lie, I think I spent more time on this than my actual uni work.
I've also been asking my friends to check out my site just to see if it looks good on most devices (not including mobiles, since I'm not trying to make this site mobile-compatible). It seems to look good on most devices except the MacBook. Wonder what that's about.
A piece of feedback that stuck out to me the most, was the fact that some found my site to look "dodgey" or "scam-like". I found that quite funny, to be honest.
Anywho, I'm thinking of adding stuff to my "about" page now. It's about time I start progressing onto the other pages. But of course it's a lot easier said than done. It's gonna take a while though, since uni work might actually get the best of me :,)
Wish me luck!

I've been experimenting with a range of styles that I think would really encompass my persona as a whole, and I've practically switched it up way too many times for my liking.
My initial idea was to give this whole site a "romance gothic" theme, since I've always liked those colours (except for my "all-pink" phase, which makes me cringe immensely every time I think about it). It was also the motive for my site name. But the final product seemed to have some sort of a...hollow feel to it. I didn't feel very connected to it. This quickly developed into a crisis as I tried to get all my personal aesthetic interests to shine in one website.
As a result, the only logical solution I have come to, is to create a generic theme which would account for the base of all my aesthetic crafts. For the moment,I went with the old Microsoft type sitaution.
I personally love websites that have this kinda feel to them. It seems so nostalgic to me. So I'd like to think this is a win-win scenario.
To be honest, ever since I started this project, I've been severely overwhelmed by the sheer amount of things I need to do to make this site personal to me. But then again, life's boring enough, so I think this should be fun...I think. (Oh, well if it isn't the consequences of my own actions!).
For reference, this is what my site is looking like so far. (Pretty bland but it's going somewhere :])
Anyway, a cyber-adventure (call it "cyberventure", if you will) awaits us! Let's see where this site will take me.

Today is the day where I finally start a new journey. A journey where I encounter struggles like none other before. I'm going to make a website.
I never grew up with a passion for coding, or any form of technology. I was one of those girly girls who loved playing with dolls and rocking my moms expired makeup. I did, however, watch my dad buzz away at his grand collection of laptops and monitors from time to time. It never made much sense to me (which is why I never paid much mind to it), but I enjoyed observing and taking mental notes of the various procedures he carried out to personalise his devices.
It stayed that way, pretty much, till I got my first tablet. It was the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. There was nothing extraordinary about it at first sight, but the experiences I had with it fundamentally altered my brain chemistry, to say the least.
My dad and I spent ages trying to customise my tablet to exactly how I wanted it. Starting from the tablet cover all the way to the wallpapers and the nitty gritty.Of course, I had to go with pink and princess themes things all over. I even added a pink heart keychain to it. Albeit it being on the most basic of skills, it was the beginning of an era for me.
I took pride in our final product, but the desire to code and produce something of my very own begun during covid.
I had the intention to create my very own website. I wasn't sure the the basis of the site would be on, but I was confident that it would be my first ever official project.
That's why I'm here today!
